23rd GMC Girls Championship Golf Tournament --

Mason won this year's GMC Championship tournament by four strokes over Sycamore.  This marks the fourth consecutive year that Mason and Sycamore have finished 1-2 and the fifth year that these two have nailed down the top two spots.  The Comets winning score of 673 was four better than the Aves.

Sycamore Senior, Kellen Alsip successfully defended her individual championship title.  Alsip earned medalist honors with a 36 hole total of eight over par, 152, and had the tournament's low score on both days.

Lakota West Freshman,  Natalia Sompolvorachi, had the lowest score and the second lowest finish ever recorded by a freshman in the 23 year history of the Greater Miami Conference Championship tournament.  Carling Coffing, Middletown, finished 1st with a score of 158 fifteen years ago (2000).  Sompolvorachi matched Coffings record score while finishing second overall in this years tournament.

36th GMC Boys Championship Golf Tournament --

Lakota East successfully defended their GMC tournament championship, edging out Mason by 3 strokes, 615-618. Last year the Thunderhawks finished 4 strokes ahead of Mason.

Will Schmidt (Lakota East) won the tournaments medalist honors with a two round total of 147, edging out his Thunderhawk teammate and the tournaments defending champion, Zach Tenerowicz by four strokes.  Tied in second place with Tenerowicz was Wood (Mason).

This was the sixth GMC championship for Lakota East head coach Jeff Combs and moves Combs into a tie with retired Lakota and Lakota West coach Jack Buhi for the most championship titles won. Combs previous championship years were 2006, 2007, 2010, 2011, and 2014.
