GMC Track and Field Athletes Perform at OHSAA State Championships


This past week in the 2016 OHSAA Track and Field Championships, the Greater Miami Conference made its presence felt across the state of Ohio. After qualifying a strong contingent of athletes from the regional meet, GMC athletes gave it their best shot against all comers in Ohio State University's Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. In team scoring the Mason Comets lead the way with a 19th place finish on the boys side and an 11th place finish on the girls slate.

Boys Track and Field Events:

400 Meter Dash - Nick Pearson - 1st Place - Mason

800 Meter Relay - Sycamore - 2nd Place - Hunter, Hedrick, Archer, Stucker

200 Meter Dash - Tyrell Preston - 6th Place - Middletown 

3200 Meter Run - Dustin Horter - 4th Place - Lakota East

Girls Track and Field Events:

800 Meter Relay - Lakota West - 7th Place - Szolwinski, Turner, Andrews, Henderson

1600 Meter Run - Elizabeth Brush - 3rd Place - Mason

400 Meter Relay - Fairfield - 5th Place - Johnson, Ward, Evans, Ellery

Shot Put - Amaya King - 5th Place - Mason

Pole Vault - Nicole Bagby - 3rd Place - Mason
