Lakota East's Dustin Horter Shatters Own VOA Course Record
The Greater Miami Conference is fortunate to be home to some the state's finest cross country programs and runners. To underscore this quality, Dustin Horter from Lakota East proved again why he is one of the very best distance runners in all of Ohio by setting a Voice of America course record in the GMC Championships this past weekend. Breaking his previous GMC - VOA record by nearly 10 seconds, Dustin finished first by a wide margin clocking in with a 15:01.2 time. This bested his own previous VOA GMC course record of 15:11.0.
Including GMC Championships, assorted invitationals and OHSAA District meets, this 15:01.2 GMC record at the VOA course is the best time ever recorded at the site. Additionally, Dustin Horter's time represents a new Lakota District record surpassing Lakota distance great Brian Godsey's previous Lakota standard of 15:08.1.
Dustin and the rest of his GMC comrades will begin their march to the OHSAA Championships at the SW District Cross Country meet this Saturday morning at the VOA Park site.
