GMC Sends Cross Country Contingent to OHSAA Regional Meet in Troy


The Greater Miami Conference cross country quality was evident in the Southwest District Championship meets this past weekend by qualifying several teams to the OHSAA Regional meet in Troy, Ohio.  Emerging from the West Chester District races, the GMC qualified the following boys teams:  in the Boys Race "A", the Mason Comets were District Champions and the Sycamore Aviators also qualified out of this race.  In the Boys Race "B", Lakota East was the lone GMC qualifier.  Coming out of the Cedarville Southwest District Boys Championship, the Middletown Middies found themselves qualifying for the Troy regional as well.

The GMC Boys Cross Country programs tallied three Individual District Champions!  Dustin Horter - 15:02.09 (Lakota East), Mikey Loehr - 15:49.56 (Mason) and Conant Smith - 15:57.84 (Middletown) all won their respective races and were crowned District Champions!

The GMC girls cross country programs turned in outstanding performances in qualifying numerous teams to the OHSAA Regional Tournament. In the Girls Race "A", the Mason Comets were District Champions while Lakota West and Colerain also qualified to Troy from this race.  In the Girls Race "B", Lakota East was the lone GMC girls qualifier.
