Mason Girls Cross Country Continues the Pace - Wins District Meet

The Southwest District Championships were held at Voice of America park on Saturday, Oct. 22nd. The Mason Girls proved once again they are the elite girls CC program in the district, winning a 8th consecutive District title by over 30 points from their nearest competitor.

The conditions were good and the girls ran well. Ellie Brush led the team with a solid time and a third place finish. Lily Hallum had a GREAT day and was 4th overall with nearly a minute drop from her GMC race on the same course. Ailee Henderson did her job and was solid, placing not far behind Lily in a season best time. Our two final scorers were Lauren Rose and Amy Satterthwaite, both of whom ran best times on the year and looked solid in the process.

The team also got a PR performance from Annie McBeath in the 6th spot who did a great job in her first big varsity race as well. The girls did a great job, and move on to the Regional meet in Troy where the competition is as tough as ever.

The Regional Championships are held at Hobart Arena in Troy on Saturday, October 29th. The top 4 teams and top 16 individuals will advance to the state meet on Saturday, November 5th at National Trail Raceway in Hebron, Ohio.

Mason girls will be seeking their 7th Regional title. Last year they finished as the Regional Runnerup. The Comets are looking to make it 13 straight appearances to the state championships held at National Trails Raceway on Saturday, November 5th.
