Mason Girls Swim / Dive Program Brings Home 10th Straight GMC Title

02/06/2017

With program depth as well as quality being the key ingredients to their success, the Mason Comet girls swimming and diving program glided to their 10th consecutive GMC title this past Saturday at the Mason High School Aquatic Center.  The Comets team scoring total of 628 points outdistanced their closest challengers by a wide margin - Lakota West 386 points and Sycamore 328 points. To underscore their meet dominance the Comets won 9 of the 12 contested events.

In recognition of multiple event victories, Ashley Volpenhein and Allison Bloebaum were both selected by opposing coaches as GMC Swimmers of the Year. As acknowledgement for a coaching job extremely well done, Mason Head Mark Sullivan was selected by his peers as the Girls GMC Swim Coach of the Year.

Complete GMC Championship results are found on the Swimming pages of GMCSPORTS.COM

Next up for Mason is the Sectional Championships, with Diving on Wednesday, Feb. 8th and Swimming on Saturday, Feb. 11th.
