05/15/2017

Each year the GMC Track and Field Championships bring out the very best in conference in conference athletes. This years' competition was no exception.

Dustin Horter's 1600 meter time of 4:07.52 erased the old record of 4:16.20 set by Middletown and later Ohio State track star Jeff See  in 2005.His time is also a new Lakota East record since he topped the time of 4:10.06 set by Jerry Clauch at the 2000 regional. Clauch also held the Lakota School District (old Lakota, Lakota East, and Lakota West) record so Horter's time is also a new Lakota District record. Adding to his list of impressive credentials, Dustin Horter also won the Division I State Cross Country Championship this past fall.

In addition to being the conference record, the feat is also the new Cincinnati area record. The previous Cincinnati record was set by Michael Ventusi of Xavier who ran 4:07:96 to win the state meet in 2014.
