GMC Celebrates Three State Championships In OHSAA State Track Meet

The Greater Miami Conference proudly brought home three individual state titles from the OHSAA State Track and Field Championships held in Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium last week. Amongst many outstanding performances turned in by GMC athletes, the conference claimed state championships in boys events, the 1600 meter run, an event won by Dustin Horter of Lakota East (4:08.38); and the boys 800 meter relay, an event captured by Brenden Archer, Barry Daniels II, Asa Hodrick, and Jonathon Malek of Sycamore (1:26.73). On the girls side of the track, the Mason girls brought home the gold in the 3200 meter relay (8:56.62). The Mason Comet relay team composed of Lily Hallum, Maddie Ullom, Faith Min and Ellie Brush earned a place in OHSAA track history by setting a new OHSAA State meet record, a OHSAA Division I record and a Jesse Owens Stadium record.
