07/03/2017

Based upon outstanding performances this past spring, numerous Greater Miami Conference boys track and field athletes were selected by Cincinnati.com as Ohio All-Stars. With GMC athletes consistently finishing the track and field season in fantastic fashion, many were recognized as Greater Cincinnati's best in the annual Cincinnati.com tabulations.

Front and center for the Greater Miami Conference was Dustin Horter (Lakota East) as the Co-Track Athlete of the Year. Dusting won the OHSAA state title in the 1600 meter run as well as OHSAA Regional and District championships in the 1600 meter and 3200 meter run. Horter was also recognized as the GMC "Track Athlete of the Year".

Program leadership also plays a significant role in the GMC "success story" with Mason boys head coach Chip Dobson being recognized as the Cincinnati.con "Coach of the Year" by guiding his boys Comet team to a seventh place finish in the state championships, backed up by OHSAA Regional and District titles, as well as a GMC championship to begin the Mason post season run.
