Mason Girls Basketball Evens the Slate With A Season Ending 61-54 Victory Over Lakota West

In a much anticipated clash of girls' basketball titans, The Mason Comets avenged their early season conference loss to Lakota West with a hard fought 61-54 win over a determined West Firebird squad. Playing with out superstar, Sammie Puisis, who was out with the flu, the Comets dug deep with a true team effort to battle the Firebirds wire to wire, hitting key three pointers and free throws to secure the victory. For the season, both Mason and Lakota West finished with identical 15-1 conference records to share their second GMC Co-Championship in a row. Overall, Mason finishes the regular season with a 19-3 record while Lakota West closes with a 20-2 record.

Mason was led by Alanna Carter (19 points) and Tihanna Fulton (17 points0, while West was led by Sarah Jones (13 points) and Abby Prohaska (13 points).  The game was marked by outstanding three point shooting, exemplary free shooting and tenacious defense by both squads. Without question, the near capacity crowd got their money's worth with an up-tempo, end-to-end game for four quarters.

Congratulations to both the Mason Comets and the Lakota West Firebirds on their co-championship and an outstanding display of fast paced basketball.
