Middie Athletic Director Receives Southwest Athletic Directors' Award

Aaron Zupka recognized by the Southwest Ohio Athletic Directors Association

In 2016, Middletown High School (MHS) welcomed Aaron Zupka to the district as the new Athletic Director. During his first year and a half at MHS, Zupka was involved with the construction of the brand new MHS Wade E. Miller Arena, built relationships with his coaches, student-athletes, and community members, and is modernizing the MHS athletics programming.

Recognizing his efforts, the Southwest Ohio Athletic Directors Association presented Zupka with the SWOADA Sportsmanship, Ethics and Integrity Award (SEI). This award is presented to an individual who is a role model for others, exemplifies an unwavering commitment to good sportsmanship, reflects a high level of ethics and integrity and teaches positive values by words and deeds.

“Mr. Zupka has shown great initiative by developing a Student Athletic Leadership Team.  He has presented young athletes with opportunities to develop through volunteerism, advocacy, and Middie PRIDE. Indeed, he is interested in utilizing athletic involvement for development of the whole student,” said Carmela Cotter, principal at Middletown High School.
