Mason Girl's Basketball Bows Out in State Semi-Final

Mason concluded their 2017-18 season where almost every Division 1 girls team could only dream the State Championships. Riding a 19-game win streak and making its second state tournament appearance in the last three seasons, Comet girls ran into a Columbus buzzsaw Friday night in a 62-48 Division I state semifinal loss at Ohio State's Schottenstein Center.

Mason (24-4), which only led once in the game for a total of 81 seconds, had early chances in the first half and fell behind 24-21 at the half. Central slowly pulled away in the second half.

Mason junior Sammie Puisis, a Florida State commit, was a point of emphasis all night for Pickerington Central's defense. Puisis led Mason with 14 points and eight rebounds and senior Tihanna Fulton had 11 points and eight boards in her final high school game.

Congratulations to all the girls and coaches on another "season to remember"!
