Mason Boys Tennis Team Advances to the OTCA "Final Four"

The Mason Boys Tennis team defeated St. Xavier 3-1 on Tuesday, and for the first time in program history has advanced to the OHIO TENNIS COACHES ASSOCIATION State Final Four. 

Mason had been "knocking on the door" for the past 5 years, with consecutive losses to Sycamore in the SW District Final dating back to the 2013 season. Mason has been competing in the annual tourney since 2010. The Comets keep their "perfect season" (20-0) and #1 ranking in the state intact as the 2018 season comes to a climatic conclusion this weekend at the OHSAA and OTCA State Championships.

It will be a busyweekend for Mason Boys Tennis. On Friday and Saturday, Niraj Komatineni
(singles), Shashank Reddy, and Anish Zuthshi (doubles) will be playing for
individual OHSAA State Titles at the Mason Linder ATP. 

Zutshi and Reddy square off against the Toledo St.John’s team of Katragadda and Williams in their first match of the state tournament on Friday. Komatineni will begin his quest for a state title on Friday, facing Luke Qin of Solon in the first round of the state tournament.

Then on Sunday, May 27th, the OTCA State Team Championship will be held at Reynoldsburg HS. Head
coach Mike Reid will be vying to lead the boys to their first title and duplicate
his Mason Girls State Championship from this past fall.
