GMC Track and Field Makes Impact at OHSAA State Meet


GMC Track and Field athletes finished their 2018 season in fine fashion at the OHSAA Track and Filed Championships bringing home three state champions and numerous state placers. Leading the way for GMC State Champions was two-time defending gold medalist Dustin Horter from Lakota East. Winning the 1600 meter run for the second straight year with a time of 4:06.96. Horter, a multiple state champion in track, also has two consecutive state cross country titles to his credit.

Angel Gazaway from Princeton took top honors in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 42.44. The Lakota East 4 x 100 Meter Relay team of Abigail Stoughton, Kaylyn Heath, Danni Stoughton and Serena Clark took top honors in this relay with a time of 47.21.  Serena Clark (Lakota East) also finished a strong runner-up in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.8.
