Butler County Sports Hall of Fame Inducts Class of 2018 Including Many GMC Standouts


The 2018 Class of the Butler County Sports Hall of Fame features outstanding athletes and athletic contributors who have made a positive impact in sports in the area. During the 36 years of existence, many prominent high school, college and professional athletes, coaches and contributors (many from the Greater Miami Conference) have been recognized and honored.  This 37th class features:

Jim Blount - Hamilton High School

Pete Conrad - Sportswriter

Joe Giuliano - Hamilton Badin

Ray Hamilton - Lakota East and Hamilton Ross

Marc Johnson - Middletown High

Stan Kappers - Fairfield High School

Pam Goetz Mitchell - Middletown High School

Kyle Schwarber - Middletown High School

John Smith - Hamilton High School

Brenda Stieger - Fairfield High School

Angela Tolbert - Hamilton High School

The induction banquet is set for Sunday, November 18th @ 5:00 PM at the Courtyard by Marriott (previously the Hamiltonian).  This is a reserved ticket event only with no “walk-up sales. Tickets are available at Clark’s Sporting Goods in Hamilton for $25. The deadline for Wednesday, November 14th.

There is a general reception for the public at 5:00 PM, with dinner to follow at 6:00 PM.  The actual program will commence at 7:00 PM.

In addition to being honored at the upcoming banquet, the 2018 Butler County Sports Hall of Fame Class will have their names engraved in stone at the Butler County Administration Building.
