Lakota East Softball Closes Out Tremendous Season With Extra Inning Loss in State Finals

The Lakota East Softball team appeared to be on a path to destiny as they overcame one challenge after another on their way to the OHSAA State Championship game in Akron.  Winning the always tough Greater Miami Conference, East followed up with Sectional, District and Regional Championships (defeating Lakota West) and eventually found themselves face to face with a persistent Louisville softball squad in the state finals. After jumping to an early lead versus Louisville, East became locked in a give and take contest that lasted two days and 10 innings with Louisville finally edging the Thunderhawks 14 - 10.  Lakota East closes out a stellar season with a memorable 30-2 record.
