Mason Nmes Nichlas Maffey Head Wrestling Coach

The Mason Athletic Department has named Nicholas Maffey as their new head wrestling coach, pending school board approval.  Maffey comes to Mason with 14-years of high school coaching experience, most recently as the head coach at Middletown High School.  Last season, Maffey lead the Middie Wrestling program to their best-ever finish in the GMC.  During his 3-year coaching span at Middletown, Maffey’s teams produced 15 district qualifiers.

“Building authentic relationships with athletes and parents has been a focus throughout my coaching career,” said Maffey.  “I’m very excited to have the opportunity to coach at one of the top wrestling
programs in the city and state.”

Maffey has also served as the head coach of the Northwest High School wrestling program for three seasons and was an assistant wrestling coach at Oak Hills and Badin High Schools. In addition to his new coaching duties at Mason, Maffey will assume a social studies teacher position at the high school in the fall.

Maffey resides in Lebanon, Ohio with his wife Danielle and their two children, Evalie and Remy.
