Lakota East Boys Golf Wins District Championship - Earns Trip to Columbus

At Glenview GC Saturday, the Thunderhawk boys shot a team score of 300 to propel them to 1st place and advance them to State for the fourth consecutive season. It will be the boys' golf program 5th overall time to compete for a state title.  East made it back-to-back District Titles as they won the event in 2018 for their 3rd overall district title (2008, 2018, 2019).

East's team score of 300 yesterday was only eclipsed by the teams' 297 score when they won the title in 2008. Moeller finished 2nd, 5 strokes behind East and St. Xavier was third with a 309. Each of these three teams will send their entire team to state.

The Hawks were led by Senior Brock Aten's sizzling round of 71 (1-under par). He was followed by senior Peyton Houston and Sophomore Ty Sylla's round of 76. Joe Wilson came in at 77 and Chris Poppe at 78.

Congratulations to all these players and head coach Jeff Combs. They will compete for a State Championship on Thursday, Oct. 17 and Friday, Oct. 18 at Ohio State University's Scarlet Course.  Dublin Jerome is the D1 defending state champions.

East finishes at State:  2008--7th, 2016--7th, 2017--6th, 2018--2nd
