GMC Girls Tennis Makes Strong Statement in OHSAA State Tournament


As one of the strongest girls tennis conferences in all of Ohio, the GMC continued make impressive showings in the OHSAA State Championships. GMC Girl Tennis "Athlete of the Year" Ananya Aggarwal of the Mason Comets finished her 2019 season with a great singles performance that fell just a bit short in the singles finals.  Ananya finished state runner-up in a fiercely contested finals match with Abby Nugent of Springboro falling in two straight sets 6-4 and 7-5. Congrats to Ananya on an outstanding season and continued athletic excellence.

On the OHSAA Doubles Championship side of the court, the Mason Comets qualified two teams and the Sycamore Aviators placed one team in the field of 16 teams.  The highest finishing GMC doubles team was the Mason tandem of Annie Kruse and Raina Chada who fought their way through the demanding bracket to finish with a very strong third place finish.
