Mason Girls Tennis Wins Fourth Straight OTCA State Tennis Title

Mason Comets - OTCA State Champions

Mason Girls Tennis is the 2020 OTCA State Tennis Champions! The Comets traveled to Reynoldsburg, Ohio on Sunday and captured their programs 4th consecutive state team title. The Comets are the first girl's team to win multiple consecutive titles since Upper Arlington won 6 straight from 1998-2003. 

Mason and Upper Arlington hooked up in the final with the Comets getting the 3-2 win. Mason had defeated Magnificat HS 3-0 in the state semi-finals earlier in the day. 

Winning for the Comets was sophomore Shyla Aggarwal in first singles against UA's Ella Hazelbaker 6-3, 6-0 just a day after falling in the OHSAA Division I individual tournament final.

Mason Junior Rashi Loni took third singles, 6-2, 6-3.

Sophomore Risha Chada and junior Anna Tonkel won second doubles 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 to earn the Mason team victory.

Mason Sophomore Harshita Uppuganti lost a tough 2nd singles match, and the double team of Raina Chada and Annie Kruse also fell in first doubles.

Other Mason team members are senior Riley Cosimi, junior Shruthi Datla, junior Danielle Lebedey, junior Danielle Reid, and sophomore Riya Zutshi.
