DICK'S Sporting Goods Congratulates GMC Boys Soccer Standouts

GMC Boys Soccer in 2020 was extremely competitive with conference squads being amongst the very best in Ohio. League schools not only battled each other throughout the regular season, but also made a tremendous impact in post-season tournament play. With so many outstanding players competing in the Greater Miami Conference, GMC head coaches selected Jacob Beauchot from Mason as the boys soccer "Athlete of the Year". Jacob was the 2020 GMC offensive leader with 48 total points, 2nd in goals scored with 15, as well as the GMC leader in assists with 18 total.  Jacob's unselfish leadership was critical in the Mason "success story" as they finished the GMC regular season undefeated 9-0 and ended with a final overall record of 16-1-1. Congratulations to Jacob Beauchot on a great senior season and a job well done!

In a vote of his GMC head coaching peers, Bill Schroer of the Oak Hills Highlanders was selected as the GMC "Coach of the Year". In a very demanding conference, Coach Schroer led his squad to a strong 6-1-2 conference record and a very respectable third place finish. Considering that the Highlanders had finished in 8th place in 2019, this dramatic turnaround was especially noteworthy. When the dust settled on the 2020 season, the men of Oak Hills has earned themselves an outstanding 10-5-4 overall record. Well prepared by a demanding conference schedule, the Highlanders knocked off both Kings and Anderson in OHSAA tournament play before finally bowing out to St. Xavier. In appreciation of Coach Schroer's hard work and dedication, he was selected as the GMC "COY" for 2020.
