Athletes Of The Week

Week:

Darian Braddix

Princeton - Junior
Track

Darrian won the 300m hurdles and was on all 3 relays that advanced at GMC meet and also advanced to Regionals in all 4 events.

Joe Mitchell

Princeton - Freshman
Track

Joe finished second in the 110 m. hurdles and advanced to the Regional meet.

Luke Neuhaus

Oak Hills - Junior
Track

Luke qualified to regionals in both throwing events. The morning of the shot put competition, we weren't even sure if he was going to be able to throw due to a minor muscle strain. Luke did everything within his power to get his body ready and overcame this barrier. This is Luke's second trip to the regional championships and has his sights set on qualifying for state!

Gabby Dreyer

Oak Hills - Junior
Track

We knew the girls 4x400 team had a chance to qualify to regionals, but it was not going to be easy; there were two other teams who had the potential to bump us out of 4th. Heading into the 3rd leg of the relay, Gabby received the baton in a position that was not in qualifying range. However, she rose up to the challenge, ran a personal best by over 1.5 seconds and charged her team into 4th place

Janiyah Malone

Fairfield - Junior
Track

“Janiyah continued her outstanding performance in championship races dominating the 300 hurdles in the District Championship for the second year in a row. She beat her District Championship time from 2018 by a full second! Janiyah also qualified 3rd in the 100 meter hurdles. She will run both events in the Regional Championships this week at Wayne.”

Evan Verquer

Fairfield - Junior
Baseball

“Evan threw six strong innings against Little Miami in the first round of the state tournament Tuesday. Verquer only allowed two runs in the 5-2 victory, while striking out six Panthers. With Evan’s efforts, the Indians were able to advance to the second round.”
