Athletes Of The Week


De’Yon Brown

Middletown - Sophomore

De'Yon Brown - 3rd in the 100m dash in 11.13 anchored the 4x200 (5th), and 4x100(5th). De'Yon is a sophomore and is a leader on the sprint squad. He is very coachable and is an excellent student in the classroom as well. He is also a starter on the football team for the Middies.

Cam Williams

Middletown - Junior

Cam Williams - won the long jump at the Mt Healthy Owls Classic with 22'1" and 6th in the 200m dash. Cam is a junior. He has shown a greater level of maturity this year and is tapping into his potential. He is also turning into a leader for the Middies.

Keion Williams

Middletown - Senior

Keion Williams - won the shot put at the Mt Healthy Owls Classic with a throw of 52'5". Keion is a senior and is the leader for the boys throwers. He is also a star on the football field and on the basketball court for the Middies.

Dylan Jones

Lakota West - Junior

Dylan tied for first in the high jump, the Firebird’s best finish at the 18 school Centerville Elks Relays on Friday. This was his second clearance of six feet this season. The other had given him an outright first at the Kings Quad Meet earlier this year.

Annika Kinley

Lakota West - Freshman

Annika was the Firebird's highest female finisher at the 14 team Centerville Elks Relays on Friday. Her high jump of 5’ 0” was the second best of the meet and her second best of the season. Kinley’s personal best of 5’ 2” had come at the Sycamore Titans meet the previous Friday.

Megan John

Oak Hills - Freshman

Megan ran a personal best of 12:08 in the 2-mile to finish 4th in the highly competitive Harrison Invitational.

Nathan Shelby

Oak Hills - Senior

Nathan is a standout in the classroom, in the community, and on the track. He is a volunteer coach for the OHYA track and field team. At the highly competitive Harrison Invitation, he finished 5th in long jump with a jump of 20'4 and 3rd in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.46.

Logan Essen

Oak Hills - Sophomore

Logan had 41 digs, passed a 2.05 in serve receive this week. He also had 3 aces. Logan is currently 5th in the GMC averaging 3.13 digs/game.

Mattison Fisher

Oak Hills - Junior

Mattison hit .562 collecting 9 hits in 16 at bats for the Highlanders in the lead off spot this week with a .611 on base percentage. Mattison has also been a strong force on defense in centerfield. Mattison’s top performance rolls from the field into the classroom as she is an active member of National Honor Society.

Ashley Halcomb

Hamilton - Senior

Ashley is a senior at Hamilton High School where she is a member of the Softball team. Ashley is the catcher for the Hamilton Varsity Softball team. This roll has given her the opportunity to become a great commander and leader on/off the field. With her leadership, the Big Blue were able to get a great conference victory over Sycamore 6-3. The team hopes to improve their record throughout the rest of the season with Ashley leading the charge.

Will Pfenning

Mason - Senior

Will is having an outstanding season for the Comets. From the mound he is 4-0 with 48 strikeouts in 24 innings pitched. He has .29 ERA and recently led his team to an important GMC win over Lakota East. Coach Bly says, " Will has been absolutely dominate in his 4 outings this year. He also has provided tremendous leadership to our team and continues to work hard every day to get better."

Dan Sewak

Lakota East - Senior

Dan is a catcher for the Thunderhawks and having a strong 2018 season. He is leading his team in average and RBI's. Dan is 2nd overall in the GMC with a 0.515 batting average. He's scored 12 runs and has 17 hits, 8 of which are doubles. His 15 RBI's ranks him third overall in the league.

Rhiana Hubbard

Fairfield - Senior

“Rhiana is a 4-year starter and centerfielder. In our game vs Mason, she had a solo homerun to put us within one run of tying the game. In the Middletown game, she stole 3rd then was safely squeezed in 2 separate innings for what proved to be the only runs needed in our win over the Middies. Rhi is leading the team in average at .520, tied for doubles with 4 and in homeruns with 2.”

Parker Siebert

Fairfield - Senior

“Parker leads the team with 61 kills and digs with 142. He is the senior captain who is a true leader on both sides of the ball.”
