Press release from Mason SID Dan Hilen:

Mason Comet Boys Lacrosse Secures Third Consecutive GMC Title

Mason, Ohio - The Comet Boys Lacrosse Team has once again proven their dominance on the field, securing their program's 3rd outright Greater Miami Conference (GMC) Title and 5th overall on Tuesday, April 30. With an emphatic 14-1 victory over Fairfield on Senior Night, Mason continues its streak of championship performances since Boys Lacrosse joined the GMC in 2018-19. Notably, the team boasts a remarkable record of three consecutive undefeated GMC seasons (2024, 2023, 2022).

Throughout the season, the Comets have exhibited a blend of disciplined offense and formidable defense, holding opponents to an average of 2.5 goals per game in the GMC while maintaining an impressive offensive average of 12.4 goals per game.

Sycamore Brings Home Girls Lacrosse Title

The Sycamore Aviator Girls Lacrosse program finished the GMC season with an unblemished 10-0 record to secure their fifth consecutive conference championship (shared one with Mason in 2012).  Since the sport of girls lacrosse came on board as an official GMC sanctioned competition in 2019, Sycamore has the distinction of winning every single league title in their sport. Over time, the Sycamore Aviators have posted 4 undefeated GMC seasons and have only been beaten once in league history. Playing an extremely challenging schedule, the Aviators are primed for a strong post-season run.

Lakota East Volleyball Completes GMC Season Undefeated

The Lakota East Thunderhawks set the GMC volleyball standard this spring, leading the league from beginning to end culminating in an undefeated league season.  The Thunderhawk 8-0 record outdistance conference runners up Sycamore and Fairfield both who posted strong 6-2 records.  This Lakota East's first conference crown since 2019 and the ninth since boys volleyball  became a conference sport in 2002.

Mason Dominates as GMC Baseball Champion

Posting a stellar 17-1 league record (21-4 overall), while being ranked in the top five in the state all season, Mason baseball simply overwhelmed the GMC this spring.  Winning the league title by wide margin, this is the sixth consecutive year that the Comets have won or shared league honors.  Relying on the old adage for success, the Comets were first in the conference pitching ERA with a miniscule 1.84, first in fielding percentage with a rock solid .972 and second in hitting with a .293 average to Lakota East's .296. Well balanced, the Mason Comets are definitely poised to make a post-season run.

SOFTBALL WINS OUTRIGHT 2024 GMC TITLE!
COMETS EARN 7TH LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP
Mason Softball claimed their 7th overall GMC title on Friday with a 14-2 win vs. Hamilton on senior night. The Comets (18-7, 16-2) won their first title in the league since 2018. They are the undisputed GMC Champion for the fifth time in the program's history (2024, 2018, 2017, 2015, 2010). They have shared the title twice (2016, 2014).

Early in the game, Mason answered any questions about the GMC outcome. The Comets scored 11 times in the 2nd inning and eventually won by a run-rule. Alisha Fox pitched all 5 innings and claimed the win from the mound. Addie McBrayer (3-3) and Halie Martin (2-2) were offensive leaders in the contest.
